by Liu Yurui

Sichuan Conservatory of Music, China

We live in a complex modern information society, where the sounds of traffic, urban hubbub and communication devices mingle around us, often causing distractions and disturbing our peace of mind. The inspiration for this work is derived from Daci Temple, located in the heart of the Taikoo Li commercial street in Chengdu. The instant the author stepped into the thousand – year – old temple, he could feel a sense of tranquility and peace, while there is a bustling world surrounded by high – rise buildings outside the temple walls. The author attempts to convey an optimistic attitude towards life through this work, advocating the maintenance of inner peace to calmly face various distractions and break free from constraints.
