Rambling is an electronic music piece that dramatizes and exaggerates the author’s experience as an international student with limited English proficiency attending classes at the University of the Arts London.

Hongquan Wang

As the composer of this work, 王虹权 (Hongquan WANG) is a Chinese musician and artist currently studying for a Master’s degree in Sound Arts at the University of the Arts London. He is committed to exploring the potential of music and sound across broader cultural and conceptual contexts. Hongquan specializes in music technology, sound art, and new media art. He has been awarded the First Prize at the International Electronic Music Competition (IEMC), the National First Prize at the National College Digital Art & Design Awards (NCDA), and the National First Prize in the Music Category of the Chinese Collegiate Computing Competition (4C). His interactive sound installations and data-driven musical instrument works have been exhibited at various venues including Zhejiang Provincial Library, Key Laboratory of IPTDM, and Hangzhou International Music Industry Expo. His music and installation works have been invited to perform by organizing committees such as the New York City Electroacoustic Music Festival and the IEMC

Fan Xu

As the mixing engineer of this work, 徐凡 (Fan Xu) is a Chinese recording and mixing engineer, currently pursuing a master’s degree in Tonmeister studies at the Royal Danish Academy of Music. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Music Engineering from Zhejiang Conservatory of Music. With extensive hands-on experience in both live and studio recording, Fan has contributed to a range of high-profile projects, including the live recordings of the 2021 & 2022 New Year Concerts by the Orchestral Department of Zhejiang Conservatory of Music, the inaugural concert of the Zhejiang Conservatory of Music Chamber Orchestra’s First Music Season, and the 5th International Chamber Music Festival.
