Song for Ripples (2024) ; 7:54
by Tan Liuyang
Sichuan Conservatory of Music
“Ripples” manifest in the objective world in various forms: the ripples caused by a stone drop into the water, the gentle breeze stirred by a butterfly’s wings, and the transmission of sound waves, which resonate with the listeners… The composer attempts to express the delicate changes, the mutual iteration, and the dynamic beauty of ripples by portraying the relationship between the original sound and its transformed sounds of accordion. For video design, the composer used the abstract elements and simple lines to show the ever-changing “Ripples” from micro-perspective. Song for Ripples is supported by Music and Digital Intelligence, Key Laboratory of Sichuan Province.
