A composer of sound, image and words, and a live electro-acoustic performer; Arshan Najafi has been recognized as one of the emerging composers of his generation with his works featured, performed, presented and published by Spectro Centre for New Music, Noise a Noise records, Petrichor Records, Unexplained Sounds Group, Cold Spring Records, XOR Space, Texas Tech University, Yarava Music Group, Unerhörte Musik, Tehran International Electronic Music Festival, Chapar Khooneh Platform, CMM Festival, SIMEC, Dublab Radio, MUSLAB and Noiseworks. He’s had the opportunity to study music with Saba Alizadeh, Parsa Hadavi E., Sohrab Motabar and Ata Ebtekar and continues to explore complex musical structures with a special interest in computer music and experimental soundscapes in a musique concrète fashion. Being one of the selected composers for Petrichor Records “Call for Young Iranian Composers” competition led him to some private lessons with Chaya Czernowin, Arshia Samsaminia, Reza Vali and Amin Sharifi. He was also one of the selected composers for the 7th “Reza Korourian Electro-Acoustic Music Competition” held by Yarava Music Group, “Electronic Nights” concert series held by Texas Tech University and “Seyr” call for scores for saxophone and electronics held by Spectro Centre for New Music amongst others. His debut book “Twenty Wrong Turns” was published by Aso Publications in the summer of 2022 in Tehran. “Imaginary Crisis”, his debut solo Album was released in December 2024 by Leiden based label, Noiseworks.
